Roger has turned this Lawson Cypress footed plate from the soft, warm-toned heartwood of Lawson Cypress. It combines graceful simplicity with practical elegance. Turned and finished by hand, the shallow dish sits on a subtle, well-proportioned foot that lifts the plate, giving it presence on the table and making it easy to handle. The plate also has a up-stand to ensure that food placed on it remains on the plate. The wood’s fine, straight grain and honey-amber colour develop a lustrous patina with use, while careful sanding and food-safe beeswax finish enhance the natural texture and protect the surface.

Ideal for serving small appetizers, cheeses, or as a display piece for trinkets, each plate is a one-off item: slight variations in grain and colour ensure no two are identical. An understated, durable piece that brings a touch of handcrafted warmth to everyday moments.
